Phil Horton first noticed the unusual nature of his new program when he dropped his lighter through the monitor screen. The value-priced software provided a whole new perspective on becoming lost in your work when the virtual cat batted the lighter through cascading windows and Phil followed. It was a good thing long-legged Liz was around to haul his bony ass back, but what followed him out was beyond virtual and more than they'd bargained for . . .

Music

During his career as a guitarist, Mark played with a few notables:

  • His band opened for Atlanta ("Atlanta Burned Again Last Night")
  • He played with Rick Scott, former drummer for Alabama, who co-wrote "Why Lady Why"
  • He played with Ivory Jack ("Made in the USA")
  • And Rick Richards of the Georgia Satellites played Mark's guitar rig when jamming with the band at Norm's in Birmingham--alas, there was only his guitar rig, so he couldn't actually play "with" Rick, but he seemed to enjoy Mark's guitar. He and the guys did "Hot Legs."
